Internships

Each semester, internships are available in both my Providence and Washington, D.C. Senate offices. These internships are open to all interested individuals, with preference given to Rhode Island residents and college students.

Internships are available on both a full- and part-time basis during both the summer and the school year. Our office is an equal opportunity employer and offers paid internships to accepted applicants who will not receive funding or academic credit through their college/university or an outside program.

Applications for Spring 2025 internships are now open. The application deadline for Spring 2025 internships is 11:59pm on Thursday, October 31st.

Providence Internship

Interns in our Providence office perform a variety of functions, including fielding constituent inquiries, writing letters and memorandums, maintaining the office’s constituent management database, assisting with outreach, helping staff with research and special projects, and performing general administrative tasks.

Washington Internship

Our Washington D.C. office offers both legislative internships and a press internship. Legislative interns are responsible for general administrative duties, drafting memos and letters on particular policy issues, and conducting research. The press intern is responsible for media monitoring and assisting the press office. Interns in our Washington, D.C. office will also be responsible for hosting tours of the Capitol complex for visiting Rhode Islanders, and attending briefings and congressional hearings.
