Whitehouse Votes Against Patel Nomination in Judiciary Committee

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), a senior member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, delivered the following statement in the Judiciary Committee before voting against advancing the nomination of Kash Patel to be the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation:

“Mark my words.  Mr. Patel will come back to haunt you,” Whitehouse said to Republican Senators in the Committee today.  “Every piece of evidence shows that, and it is not Democrat evidence.  It’s his own words.  It’s his own colleagues.  And it’s judges evaluating his credibility.  Trump-Russia is going to come roaring back, if it’s not already back.  We should be on our guard about this nominee, and we should be on our guard about Trump-Russia.”
