Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) today released the following statement marking the 9th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks:
“On this ninth anniversary of the September 11th attacks my thoughts and prayers are with the families of those lost on that tragic day, and with our servicemembers who continue the fight against Islamic extremists.
“Today, as we honor the memories of friends and heroes who fell on 9/11, we should also recall the unity and patriotism which followed their loss. America needs that unity now more than ever, and there is no better day to rekindle that spirit.”
