Providence, RI – U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse released the following statement today following the announcement that Rhode Island has been selected as a recipient of federal funding through the “Race to the Top” program, which was established by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act:
“The greatest investment we as a nation can make is in our children and their future,” said Senator Whitehouse. “Rhode Island’s selection as a recipient of federal ‘Race to the Top’ education funds is a testament to the hard work of our education professionals and local officials. This funding will give our schools the resources they need to provide our kids with the high quality education they deserve.”
