Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse reacted today to President Obama’s plan to end combat operations in Iraq by 2010:
“I believe the President’s decision to set a date to bring our troops home from Iraq is an encouraging step in the right direction,” said Whitehouse. “As Rhode Islanders know, I have been working hard to end the war in Iraq, and have consistently pressed to bring our troops home as quickly and safely as possible.”
