Whitehouse Statement on Meeting with President Obama on Budget

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), a member of the Senate Budget Committee, attended a meeting at the White House with President Obama and Budget Committee Democrats this afternoon to discuss the President’s budget proposal and the pressing fiscal needs of the country.

“President Obama’s budget sets the right course, investing in both our nation and our people. From reforming our health care system to curbing global warming to ensuring that every child has access to a quality education, the challenges facing our nation have never been greater. I look forward to working with Chairman Conrad and my other colleagues on the Budget Committee to put our nation back on the path to prosperity and progress.”
