Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse today issued the following statement as the country passed the grim milestone of losing 600,000 Americans to COVID-19:
“Today we pause to remember the 600,000 Americans – including more than 2,700 Rhode Islanders – sadly lost to COVID-19. Even as signs of recovery are all around us, we are keeping the unfathomable number of families grieving loved ones in our hearts.
“With science guiding the way, let us hope this is the last grim milestone of the pandemic.”
