Washington, D.C. – Today, the U.S. Senate Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee met with business leaders from around the country who have expanded their businesses and created jobs despite the tough economic climate. Senator Whitehouse invited Charlie Kroll, the President and CEO of Rhode Island-based Andera, to share his experiences at the meeting.
“Our first priority must be to grow Rhode Island’s economy and help small businesses succeed in the state. It is very encouraging to hear from Charlie about his success doing just that in Rhode Island, and I’m so glad he got the chance to share his company’s innovative approach with my colleagues in the Senate,” said U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse.
“I enjoyed talking with the Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee about Andera’s growth and success creating jobs, and urged the committee to consider how immigration reform, particularly for entrepreneurs and highly skilled engineers, could unleash a wave of innovation and substantially accelerate the pace of job creation nationwide,” said Charlie Kroll, President and CEO of Andera.
Each year, the Steering and Outreach Committee hosts several meetings with advocates, policy experts, business leaders, elected officials, and community leaders to discuss key priorities and enlist their help. These meetings are open forums for discussion between members of communities around the country and members of the Democratic Caucus.
According to Andera, they pioneered online account opening for banks and credit unions in 2004 and now offer a multichannel platform to over 550 customers. Their oFlows platform radically simplifies account opening and lending in branches, online, out in the field, and over the phone. The company is headquartered in Providence and has offices in San Francisco and New York.
