Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), a leading voice in the Senate on climate change, today applauded President Biden’s commitment to addressing the climate emergency in a series of new executive orders.
“I am pleased that President Biden has made addressing the climate crisis and creating green jobs urgent priorities,” said Whitehouse. “I’m particularly encouraged by the Biden administration’s push to end the public subsidies that provide an enormous advantage to the fossil fuel industry, and his push to expand renewables like offshore wind. There’s a lot of work ahead of us on climate, and the Biden administration has to marshal broad support for a bold, comprehensive solution.”
